New Orleans with the Family

So here we are again. In the Big Easy. The only place I know where the wicked witch and her flying monkey (who look like they just came directly out of central casting for Wicked may I add) don't even cause the crowd around them to take a second look. I don't think I was ever bored of people watching in this town.

  1. I'm scared of this town!! My SIL lives here, and it makes me nervous every time we visit! I hate using or shooting guns, I don't like the feeling of that much deadly power in my hands, but I wish I had it as soon as we cross the bridge into the city! I think it's the abandoned building right next to the Ritz that throws me off (and how that's a common thing). Or maybe it's all of Kristy's crazy stories that I think can't be true, and yet I know they must be, because she's not one to make things up! The food is incredible though. We've had dining out and local crawfish bake experiences, and loved all of the above. It was on one such visit that toddler aged Anny coined the now much loved family phrase, "Mommy, more froggy?"

You're also a Miami girl though, so I suppose New Orleans ain't nothin' but a thang! Still though, hold tight to those babies there. You're assuming that witch lady and monkey minion were in costume . . . there's a reason none of the passerbys stared or looked her in the eye!

    1. Liz, Liz. I lived in NOLA 13 years and never owned a gun but did have a blast and a few kids . But when I moved to Michigan I got myself an arsenal b/c all those corn fields and barns scared the crap out of me. It's perspective I guess. I'd live to see the NOLA you visit. It seems exciting.
